New reviews

Wondering whether we were gonna post new reviews, well here you are...ONE TRAX MINDS, KARBOMB and DINE IN HELL

ONE TRAX MINDS Restless (CD)

Here I finally got the new ONE TRAX MINDS. RESTLESS, this is the title of the restless punk rockers from Abruzzo, Italy (rumours say they now re-based in Berlin). The brand new album,

out through Indelirium records, follows up to their MCD “Spits, Debts And Tears” (that I reviewed last September). And let me say the guys definitely hit a notch up with these 12 tracks which, still keeping a fire-branded punk rock and rock n roll imprint, have now a more mature feel to them. Some obvious examples come when two tracks like the fifth “Uncontrollable” and the number 6 “Tales From The Bottle” kick in. But, if you're accustomed with these Italians earlier stuff, I'm sure this feel will never get off you through the listen of the whole record. Their new sound has got more soul, passion, rock n roll and dismissed a bit of ignorant punk stripped down aggression and hunger -but care, they'll still kick your asses.
There's a song like “AQ” (in the vein of Morrison / Danzig / Mike Ness darker moments) which tries to convey feeling about the terrific earthquake that hit L'Aquila three years ago.
Okay, I don't wanna add more. I just strongly suggest you checking these rockers and their effort out to make your mind up about it and decide whether you're too punk not to give a fuck.

KARBOMB Nose Before Toes (CD)

KARBOMB's "NOSE BEFORE TOES" is Athens, GA punkers debut full-length work out through Warbird Ent..
The foursome, formed in 2005, play a blend of modern technical melodic punk rock much in the vein of Belvedere, This Is A Stand Off, Rentokill, and more classic shit a la NOFX (check the second track "Sex Lunch and Rock n roll"), Lag Wagon, Face To Face.
Copled to thier tech prowless there's always a fun mood accompaining their proposal and the bursting need to break the rules, don't giving a fuck and making some noise. Is this punk rock?
And like in the best punk rock fashion nothing new under the sun. The production is okay but a little less polished than other records out today, perhaps this thanks to Joe Queer (The Queers) who was behind the desk.
I can't say the best melodic punk rock I heard as of late but it was definitely worth checking this out, and fans of the genre could find their new fav band.

DINE IN HELL Orpfhans (CD)

I start listening to "ORPFHANS" and the very first thought after the opening "Into The Misery" and the next up "The Forgotten" kicked off is..."This Italian combo is gonna get some heads up from those who are into heavy sludge and darkish modern hardcoremetal".
The overall atmosphere is tense, oppressing, bone-freezing like a veil of black dropping on this earth.
There's definitely a mix of European metalcore school (Zero Mentality, Arkangel), metalcore in the vein of Shai Hulud (let me say lacking the complex-prog trade mark sound of the Americans), Misery Signal, more modern melodic sounds a la The Ghost Inside and a hardcore backbone in the band's sleeves.
"ORPFHANS" is the second effort for this band from Ravenna and it follows up to their EP "Bites Of Time" dated 2009. The record boasts a first class production, mastering and the cool layouts all the Indelirium releases are packed in.
DINE IN HELL is definitely a solid, passionate five-piece that surely won't disappoint those who are into these sounds. Check this band out on the net and buy this record.
