THE HOOKERS + EL CAMARO Milan's show report

Low-class whores chew high-grade metal- HC

by michela a.

It can be hard to step out of one of the Hookers’ shows completely uninjured. 'Cause these low-class-escorts of "heavy metal thunder from Kentucky” have been on stage since the mid '90s and are still terrorizing audiences all around the World with their raw, rude and supreme hc-metal cocktail Molotov. And the same they did last Saturday at LO-FI, in Milan, while sharing the stage with El Camaro from the Netherlands and the Clamps and Razorboy Hate Rock from Italy.

The Clamps inflamed the crowds with their great speedrock while the mood turned insane with Razorboy’s show. El Camaro, now on European tour with the Hookers, really made stage and crowds a battlefield shooting guns of fast burning HC or, in their words “evil metal punk”...Aggressive. And in literal meaning! Flying shoes, cans, alcohol and whatever above (and against!) the crowds...enough to drive the small audience to mass hysteria. And all at full throttle!

And then the Hookers shocked the crowds with their brutal, insane and depraved three-chord assault. A dirty, sweaty, alcoholic show! But they can...with that first quality metal hc they never appear ridiculous, despite ruinous falls and blood-soaked mic punches on brave kids’ heads. Nothing funny. One year passed since their last full-length release (Horror Rises From The Tombs, 2011) and they’re fucking dynamite as if it was out yesterday. With Adam Neal a.k.a The Rock and Roll Outlaw ‘ s experience at the vocals, a guitar (just one indeed) which is both wall of sound and great riffs all in one and a nonstop asskicking drums, the mighty Hookers just needed less than one hour to turn a small audience into a bunch of possessed.

Who do they sound like? Some say Zeke, Antiseen, Dwarves, Electric Frankestein...well...better you judge by yourself and rather at a live show. But take your hard hat or you will end shaking your head bleeding!
