WAITING FOR BETTER DAYS interview

Waiting for better days: and better days come! The WAITING FOR BETTER DAYS are a melodic HC band who started in 2008 playing in a little room called "giungla". Now they're going to leave for a well rich European tour to let their new full length album known: "To those who believe to be left alone".

Check out and listen to this mighty band who deserves the best for the effort to spread their music out of Bari, South Italy and for the engagement they've always put in it. Don't let them think they are alone!!!

Interview by Roberta

gan: First off, a question about the upcoming tour: you're going to leave for almost 15 days around Europe, touching Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark and UK also. How did you get the dates? And what are some of your expectations on this?

WFBD: Hi! We found the dates thanks to the contacts we had and the help of Danny and Andy Cummings (zerotalentbooking) We know we’ll live this tour experiencing thousands of problems and satisfactions at the same time, as always, and we hope to do the best we can do everywhere we go and leave something good about us to people.

gan: I know you've still some dates to be booked: would you like to get the chance to ask our audience for their help?
WFBD: Yes! If someone likes to help us to book the last shows he can easily write to us, and I attach here some useful links:

gan: How about a tour in Italy? Any plans for that?

WFBD: We hope to have an Italian Tour at the end of this year, actually, it’s harder to have shows here, but we’ll definitely do it.

gan: I read you got some problems with the Church, that tried to obstaculate the Sikelian Hell, a metal festival (the first one) in Puglia. Then they sorted it out, luckily. How has it gone? Have you played it?

WFBD: Yes, Sikelian has been victim of Church, in Italy it works like this, it seems it’s part of Italian culture to obstacle Italian culture, the concept of music isn’t really clear to most of the people, anyway at the Sikelian Hell festival, which was in Sicily and not Puglia, we performed and we met lots of bands and we enjoyed our time with them.

gan: How is the hardcore scene in your region? Do you think it can be bettered? How?

WFBD: Our region is a place where there are a lot of actually great bands, there are and there have been so many, but all of the background obstacolate us, also our geographic position for example, but I’m sure that we’ll be able to reach what we’ve always wanted if we stay unit all together. Apulian scene is slowly growing up, there are new festivals, new bands, it’s like spring and we’ve to respect and collaborate with each other to make it a big thing.

gan: You've shared the stage with bands like Ignite, Extrema, the Ocean and Napalm Death. What are some other bands you'd like to play with?

WFBD: We’d like to play and be able to share the stage with those who like us have toured for years and have contributed to the grow of this culture, if I’ve to say a name, I would definitely say Propagandhi.

gan: Among your influences are the Propagandhi and the At the Drive In. Is there anyone particularly interesting you're currently listening to and you'd like to suggest us checking out?
WFBD: Beside the big names of International Hardcore, personally (Giò) I listen to a lots of bands from my city, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFDwK2-mKCY) and the bands of our friends XSTATERIDE, FAIR DO'S, TO ED GEIN etc…

gan: Who is the author of the lyrics? How do you choose the language for them? (sometimes they're in Italian, sometimes in English)

WFBD: I’m Giò and I’m the author of all of the English texts and lyrics, and I’m author of a part of the song “mille riflessi“, We use the English because we travel a lot and it makes us able to communicate with the rest of the world, to share our feelings with everyone, but the Italian is still our language and it’s important for us to make other people listen this language that has said a lots of things in the Italian Hardcore Scene.

gan: Who are "Those who believe to be left alone"?

WFBD: "Those who believe to be left alone" are all of those who don’t know what tomorrow will bring, those who are always on the look out for things that can make our future better, those who hope to see something big come true, those who want the world to be upside down, all of those who believe to be alone in the fight against this system.

gan: The new album and the upcoming Euro tour, what's up next for Waiting For Better Days?

WFBD: Our next step is our Tour in November. We’re trying to go to Spain and France. This is the face book event if anyone wants to help http://www.facebook.com/events/322693027815083/. Also we’re thinking of recording new tracks because we’d like to release something new really soon.

gan: Wanna add something? Any shout outs?

WFBD: If you’re waiting for better days, don’t worry, they’re coming.
