May reviews: A THEORY OF JUSTICE, ROTTING OUT, COUNTERPUNCH, GOOD RIDDANCE, NO BRAIN, NO SHAME split, ADOLESCENTS/SVETLANAS split, M.O.R.A., NAPALM DEATH, FINAL PRAYER
by marcs77
This new EP from Lodi resident A THEORY OF JUSTICE is out, as you perhaps have noticed, since last December (I've actually been at the release party they played at Clam) and it was really about time to make some deserved justice to the sophomore effort these guys worked hard on.
Their first DIY released recording “Athena” crossed the thin lines laying between new school hardcore and metalcore while, coming as a clear surprise for some, the new work shows up a sharp change in direction toward a sound that at very first listen reminded me of two of the most exciting bands in the damn forward-moving roster of Trustkill records; I am talking about that metallic angular (post)hardcore played by the likes of Nora and Poison The Well.

Bologna's TO ASHES is our newest "hot new band to check out", go ahead
by marcs77
These guys from Bologna remind me of early To Kill, or, going back of about another decade, and considering only the Italian scene, Roma's xPurificationx, but Germany's Wolf Down as well as a whole bunch of bands off the xCatalystx records catalogue come to mind too. Metallic hardcore punk with a socio-political stance to it.
Read on to know more about TO ASHES...
gan: You guys started out not long ago. How did it all go?

New RISE ABOVE DEAD album out through Moment Of Collapse records
Moment of Collapse Records will once again join forces with Italy's Milano based underground band RISE ABOVE DEAD to release their next full-length album called "Heavy Gravity" and follow-up to 2012's debut "Stellar Filth".
The new album has been engineered by Riccardo “Paso” Pasini at Studio73 - Recording.
The band went through a lot of changes and is acting from now on as a fully instrumental four-piece and plays a hypnotizing version of postrock with metal influences.

FAT WRECK CHORDS celebrates a quarter of century and Fat Mike invites everybody to the party with a video clip
I think everybody into punk rock music, who was in his/her teens during the 90's, has a special place in their minds and hearts where San Francisco, CA located indendent punk rock label FAT WRECK CHORDS inhabits.
The label started out in 1990 by Nofx bassist/singer Fat Mike and his wife Erin has gone a long way to celebrate 25 years.
Read on a post off Fat Wreck about this important milestone and what they're gonna do to celebrate the way these events deserve to...
Fat Wreck Chords is 25!!! A quarter of a century?? We can hardly believe it ourselves! Who would have thought that something that started all those years ago in Mike and Erin's kitchen would still be around today! We've been through weddings and divorces, births and deaths, rehabs and reintoxications, and we are still pumping out some of the most influential punk rock around. After 25 years, we think we've earned the right to throw a proper party and celebrate the fact that we are old! So, starting on August 6th: a bunch of our bands will be playing together all across North America on the Fat Wrecked for 25 Years tour. To cap it off there will be a massive two day blowout festival in our hometown of San Francisco, where we will shut down the streets and blast out the tunes.
Stay tuned, because the official Fat Wrecked For 25 Years tour will have additional bands added, plus surprise bands added to specific shows. Come out and celebrate with us!
