They're going through the mixing stage these days and the s/t record should be out in May/June.
But meanwhile Spiknyker has just posted a new track "Det syns inte utanpå" that you can stream here
The band explains the lyrics -for a long time I wanted to write a song with lyrics conserning sexual violence since it's a topic rarely brought up within our scene even though it effects many of us. However, being a mane with no direct experiences of sexual violence I never felt that anything I could write would do the subject justice. Far too many times have I found myself speechless when my friends tell me of their traumatic experiences. The stories fill me with sadness and disgust time and time again but I never find the proper words. In the same way the entire hardcore punk scene seem speechless about a kind of violence that has effected the lives of many of us or people close to us. The thing is that since the norm in the scene still is male the issue of sexual violence is seldom adressed. Many men may see this as something that happens to others and may not realize how real of an issue this is to people all around us. You might live all your life close to someone who has survived sexual violence without knowing it. In a context where some people has started to believe that this isn't an issue (and maybe even something to joke about) we run the risk of getting a culture where survivors don't feel safe and don't feel like they can share their experiences with others.
I try to find words to adress this issue but it the end it's not up to me to give a voice to survivors of something that I havn't experienced. My role is to shut up and show respect when someone choses to tell me about hurtfull experiences and maybe we as a culture can do this too. The first step in this direction is to create a culture of safe spaces where everyone feel welcome. This in short means to not take for granted that everyone else has the same set of experiences as you. /Jens
