gan: Hey BRIGHT LIGHT, please introduce yourselves to the uninitiated and readers of www.gotanerve-zine.com?
BL: What’s up ! We are Bright Light and we are straight from Silesia, Poland. There are 5 of us. Edi and Popek play guitars, Borsuk (Badger) plays bass guitar, PJ is a drummer and I’m Filip and I’m vocalist. We started our band in 2012 and we have played bunch of shows since then. We are trying to be as active and involved in our scene as we can.
gan: Do you have any stuff out?
BL:Yes ! We recorded Take Control Demo and it was our first material released on CD, after that we made two more songs just for medleys and one of these songs was released by our friends from Kwadraciok Records on their Various Artist LP "Za krótko, za szybko" ("Too short, too fast”). Recently we recorded brand new album called "Mind And Soul", it’s available on CD and 7”. Moreover we made some t-shirt’s but it is just an addition that every band does.
gan: Wanna talk a bit about the making of of "Mind And Soul" EP?
BL: Sure! "Mind And Soul" is our brand new EP and I just want to say couple words what is this EP about. I was trying to contain things that are really often on my mind. It’s about facades that people wear on day by day routine, some of them pretend to be someone who they are not. It’s about friendship, about friends and people surrounding us who truly defines who we are. Very important thing is mentioned in song called “Connection”, I brought out the issue of racism, which is the thing that we all cannot understand, but this problem is much wider, it’s not only about having no tolerance for racists, it’s also about having no tolerance for sexism, homophobic and fascism. On this EP we also continued the topic of motivation. Motivation in chasing your goals no matter what.
gan: You guys hail from Lędziny Poland. How's your local scene like and what hardcore punk in Poland is all about these days?
BL:Our local scene is really strong. In Silesia we have lot of bands that are super involved in whole hardcore/punk scene in Poland. We stick tight and we feel like a big family. But we are not close-minded and we are not trying to be isolated so we have plenty of friends all around Poland, who have their own bands and we support each other. Going back to our local scene there are plenty of bands worth paying attention to like Minority, Castet, Good Lookin’ Out, You Better Run and many more!
gan: Any plans for the near future?
BL:We have couple shows booked in 2015, for sure we would like to make some new material and play as many shows as we can. We will try to make some tours with our friends, but these are just plans for now.
