Why nowadays lots of so labelled modern/crossover/alt metal bands have females fronting them?

Not being sexist here at all but this question came up in my overthinking-mind many times over the recent years. I'm aware there's definitely kind of a trend going and lots great bands, the likes of Jinjer, Spiritbox, Skynd come to mind (to name but a random few), which are now staples of modern metal scene, and get featured on bills of major festivals worldwide, and many more outifits are popping up on a regular basis, but that's about it?

Is this just another outcome of pandora's box, being opened by the gothic/symphonic metal of mid 90's early 00's, and leading female vocalists to be more and more under the spotlight than in the previous decades of metal history?

Is metal becoming more inclusive?
