Don't forget your pop punk. And that Canada is always a hotbed for these bands...
Toronto, ON punk rock band WE OOUTSPOKEN returned with a new album titled "All The Right Pieces" on September 16.
"All The Right Pieces" was recorded at Canada's Metal Works Studios and was produced by Joel Kazmi and Blair Robb ( Sum 41, The Weekend) with the exception of track 7 ("Anything For You") which was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during one of the band's South American tours.
The original album artwork was created by Winston Smith, the punk rock surrealist/collage artist behind the ubiquitous Dead Kennedy's logo, Green Day's 'Insomniac' art work, and many other works for Playboy, the New Yorker etc.

For the metalhead in you...
Alaskan Mountain Metal crew TURBID NORTH have launched a brand new video for the track ‘Pyramid Drones’. The song is taken from their second full length album ‘Eyes Alive’ which is penned for release on 30th September via Apocalyptic Witchcraft.
The album is released on limited edition 180 gram blood red vinyl -and comes with a patch.
Vocalist Nick comments:
“The video was shot in an awesome venue we play regularly in Fort Worth, TX called Tomcats West. We rented some lights and one camera on a tripod to film ourselves. Did about 10 takes with different angles. No camera man, completely DIY. It isn’t the most action packed video, but we needed something quick and I really thought it was important to show off the new lineup.”
I'm bit of a partisan here being one of the band's guitarists, Michela (aka Michella Hall), one of our longtime writers. This being said I am happy to stream on our 'zine and introduce to you all MACHETE FUCK from Berlin, Germany.
The foursome features among its ranks ex-members of Discharge, Vagrants, Them Martyrs and Disgust and just released an 11-track demo entitled "Atavic Scars".
They play a blend of noxious extremely deafeaning d-beat HC metal punk with crust influences and doomy heavy slowed-down parts. So take bands like Discharge, Anticimex, Doom, Disrupt, Nausea, Hellbastard, Napalm Death, Converge, Nailbomb, Fudgetunnel and mix everything with Black Sabbath and Motörhead just to have a wee idea about what their music sounds like -if you're not accostumed to the genre yet. Anyway, definitely worth listening to them and watching out for their next moves.

In a past entry up in 2013 we had talked about a DIY documentary about a band named ZŁODZIEJE
ROWERÓW; a punk hardcore band that played a prominent role among the Polish hardcore punk scene since the 90's.
The movie had its offline premiere on 8 November 2012 in Białystok with 120 viewers on a rainy evening in the middle of the week. Since then it has been screened in over 30 cities around Poland and abroad (including London and Berlin), and all screenings have been organized by enthusiastic people related in one way or another with the DIY scene.
Our beloved hardcore legends from NYC...
2016 marks the 30 year anniversary of the legendary New York Hardcore band SICK OF IT ALL.
In order to celebrate this special occasion SICK OF IT ALL are releasing “When The Smoke Clears” on November 4th, 2016. The band didn’t just record five brand new tracks in their unique and classic old school style, but they also dug deep in their photo archives and pulled up rare photos as well as iconic shots from their past and present. Everything was compiled for a strictly limited, luxurious 60 page coffee table Artbook that is wrapped in fake leather and that comes with personal liner notes from people such as Davey Havok (AFI), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused), Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music), Arthur Smilios (Gorilla Biscuits) and Matt Kelly (Dropkick Murphys).
