Almost an intimate concert for Winnipeg’s COMEBACK KID, at Circolo Magnolia, Milano, last night. But it has been an intense and sweaty one as those in the crowd can easily attest this.
The Canadians played a tight powerful show picking up songs from older records like “Wake The Dead” (2005) and “Broadcasting” (2007) and new ones; including “I’ll Be That”, for which they just released a music video, and that Andrew Neufeld stated they had rehearsed a couple of time only, with new bass player filling in for this tour, and he was likely to fuck it up forgetting the words (it didn’t go that bad, c’mon).

Roma's hardcore TEMPEST (feat. ex TO KILL member) to release their debut 7" on Resist records

Australia's Resist records is going to release the debut 7" from Roma's hardcore TEMPEST, which will be out on
June 22nd, 2018.
The EP was recorded in Roma at Hell Smell studios.

TEMPEST is a band born out of the desire of five people, coming from backgrounds in activism, art and education, to use music as a tool in the fight against the destruction of our world. This band is the result of a combined love for music, animals and the environment that all members share.

Most of the band met through volunteering with the marine conservation organisation, Sea Shepherd, with the first Tempest riffs written aboard a ship amidst the waves, while campaigning to protect the oceans. Tempest's sound is the result of many combined influences.
From 90's bands such as Earth Crisis, Trial and Indecision as well as more modern influences like Bane, Incendiary and Stick To Your Guns.
With members originating from all corners of the globe, and from bands such as Undying, To Kill, and Meatlocker, Tempest draws on the past to create a new sound.

PASS AWAY (feat. members of I Am The Avalanche and Crime In Stereo) released new LP 'The Hell I've Always Seen' on May 25

Brooklyn, NY's punks PASS AWAY released on May 25th, 2018 their third outing entitled "The Hell
I've Always Seen" on Suburbia records.
The trio started as an idea between Mike Ireland and Kellen Robson of I Am The Avalanche and Eric Fairchild of Crime In Stereo.
The guys wanted to do a band that was strictly for fun and a total escape from daily work life and stresses.
A common love for 90s West Coast punk and the Replacements was the main influence for the first 2 EPs. 'Hey Death' was released in 2015 on Black Numbers and was well-received. Lots of shows and even more writing followed. The 'Sink Your Hooks In' EP came next in 2016 and offered a more dynamic shift in songwriting and more balanced sound within the band.

News flash…we have a new MAD CADDIES album!

Rumors have been flying for the past few months, but today we can finally reveal the details of what Fat Mike and the band have been collaborating on. Mike wanted to put a reggae spin on some classic punk songs, so he enlisted the help of the Caddies, and Punk Rocksteady was born. The album features 12 classic punk songs, completely reimagined with a reggae strut! No joke… this album would even have Bob Marley jammin’ to standards from the likes of Bad Religion, The Misfits, and Descendents. It’s not due out until June 15th, but don’t you worry. Brooklyn Vegan is premiering Mad Caddies’ rendition of Green Day’s“She.”

PMA hardcore SAFE released new 7" "Stay Strong"

Milano/Stuttgart based hardcore outfit SAFE released, early this month, the follow-up to their 2014's EP "Ride A New
Season", out on Youth Crew recs and Vegan recs -we reviewed the EP here @ GAN.
The band, a 2-piece back in 2014, went through some line-up changes after vocalist Dharmavit moved to Germany in 2016.
The now four-some played the release show in Karlsruhe on April the 2nd and the 7" 3-track EP is now available, through Germany's Backbite records and Italy's Youth Crew records in Europe and Vegan records in South America.

Meet Miguel Chen Punk Rock Bassist (Teenage Bottlerocket) and Author of 'I Wanna Be Well: How a Punk Found Peace and You Can Too' (Wisdom Publications)

Never giving too much coverage to books but here we've one where chances are high you may find interesting...

Miguel Chen has been adventuring all his life. At the age of three, he moved from his birthplace of
Mexico City to the state of Wyoming, where he currently resides. Between touring and playing bass with his band, the unstoppable Teenage Bottlerocket (Fat Wreck Chords), and journeying to master his yoga practice, Miguel has visited five continents and forty countries. When he is not on the road, he teaches at self-owned Blossom Yoga in Laramie and Cheyenne. He most recently returned from Rishikesh, India after studying Hatha and Ashtanga yoga at Shiva Yoga Peeth. Miguel is also the author of I Want to Be Well: How a Punk Found Peace and You Can Too (Wisdom Publications), which combines his passion of music, yoga, and spirituality.

As a teacher, Miguel creates space for a light-hearted, yet down to earth approach to spiritual practice. In his spare time Miguel writes articles about music, life and spirituality and has contributed to publications such as The Shambhala Sun, Lion’s Roar, Alternative Press and New Noise Magazine. Miguel received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming in 2009 and hopes one day to actually use it for something. Seriously, anything.

The nihilist industrial noise mongers quartet formed around the end of the 90's in Alessandria and has just released, on March the 2nd, 2018,  their new 8-track album  "Dissenso" through Argonauta records.
The band mixes some dusturbing, nerve-wrecking, noise industrial metal with a hardcore edge to it and because of the use of the Italian language, vocal-wise, they kind of remind me of Marlene Kuntz, early Disciplinatha, RSU, and many Italian hardcore punk bands (the list would be too long and definitely boring).

UK's DEARIST signs to Spartan records and will release sophomore album on April 27th, 2018

Wolverhampton alt-rock band DEARIST are pleased to announce they have signed to Seattle, US independent record label Spartan Records and will release their second album titled "Sonder" on 27th April 2018 on vinyl and digital download.

Commenting on the signing, front man Adam Binder said: “We are so stoked to sign to Spartan Records. First all they release a lot of stuff by a band called MAE, who I was obsessed with growing up, so it's like a teenage dream come true to be label mates with them. I suppose more importantly though it's just great to be part of label that really love music and also do some amazing vinyl releases. Most of us in the band have a decent vinyl collection so when we started speak to Spartan and we saw the stuff they were putting out we were super excited to be a part of it.

Celtic folk 'n' roll punk THE CLAN to release their third full-length in March

St.Patrick's day is coming next month and the day before the fest, which is held every year on March the 17th, Italy's Celtic folk n' roll punk ensemble THE CLAN set the release date for their third full-length album, titled "Here To Stay".
The new 13-track effort was recorded, mixed and produced at CRONO Sound Factory by Gian Amen (Gianluca Amendolara) and is out on March the 16th, 2018 via BlackDingo.

The band shot an official music video for the song "Rievoluzione", the first single released last November 2017, which sees an appearance from Cippa and Paletta of Punkreas fame. Watch the video HERE.

That's what we're streaming today. Once again it's definitelynot punk hardcore stuff but it's some caustic music indeed...

NOOSE ROT hails from Minnesota and plays just totally fucked and putrid death metal.
The band came to be around a shared love of members of Gatecreeper, Skeletonwitch, and Wolvhammer for primitive and involved death metal in the vein of Autopsy, Pungent Stench, Coffins, Nihilist, Grave, and Repugnant - deciding to join forces to birth their own death metal abomination that would worship at the altar of the Finnish and Swedish gods of ancestral death and decay.

Gruesomely regressed and appallingly involved, In their wretched and bludgeoning debut EP NOOSE ROT spew forth a vomited cascade of complete aural filth that engulfs the listener in a blinding deluge of chainsawing guitars, steamrolling drums, and putridly tortured vocals. At its most delicate and refined "The Creeping Unknown" is nothing more than a coffin-born aural stampede of complete aural rot where caveman-death metal is taken to a sickening new extreme, conjuring similar diseased, atmospheres as seen in bands like Cruciamentum, Vastum, Acephalix, Disma, and Grave Miasma.

MESSA play evoking doom metal with a dark jazz twist. Deliciously haunting female vocals, Rhodes piano and 70’s fuzz guitars combine to conjure a sound that is all of their own. With influences as diverse as Windhand, Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore, The Devil’s Blood, Jex Thoth, Angelo Badalamenti, Bellwitch, Urfaust, John Coltrane and Aluk Todolo, the band has moved from the droning occult doom of their first LP ‘Belfry’ to a new, darker and more atmospheric approach clearly showcased in their new record ‘Feast for Water’, a concept album centered on the introspective, symbolic and ritual features of the liquid element.

90's alternative punk metal riot all-gal L7 has just released an official music video for the brand new
song "I Came Back To Bitch".
Last year the band from Los Angeles signed a deal with Don Giovanni records and released their very first new song in like 18 years -the song was titled “Dispatch from Mar-a-Lago”.

Chances are a new album is gonna see the light of the day in 2018? We'll see...

Hardcore-post-everything STORM{O} new album out and first official music video

While writing this entry the guys in STORM{O} are down and busy on the 72-hour-non-stop release party tour for their sophomore full-length record entitled "Ere" -the ride ends tomorrow at Scugnizzo Liberato, Napoli after the four-piece will have played 20 gigs around Italy.
The new album, which has been featured as "album of the day" on bandcamp on Feb. the 6th, 2018, is out through through Moment Of Collapse, Shove records.

Straightedge's hardcore punk SPARK s/t 6-track demo out on vinyl in March

Straightedge old school hardcore punk band SPARK hails from Germany (the guys, who're not newby to the scene, state "from all over Germany") and last December the 27th, 2017 released their first recordings ever, digitally, through bandcamp.

They have now announced that the 6-track s/t demo shall be out March the 23rd, 2018 on 7" vinyl format thanks to  Blacktop Records.

France's BEYOND THE STYX new album out in February

Brutal hardcore metal BEYOND THE STYX, from Tours, France, has just published the first official music video from the upcoming new album "Stigma" set for release on Feb. the 23th, 2018 through  KLONOSPHERE / Season of Mist distribution & DIORAMA RECORDS..
The new album, which follows-up to their previous effort "Leviathanima", dated 2015, was recorded at DOME STUDIO & mixed / mastered by Nick Jett.

After the "Fury Stands Unbeaten" Italy’s angry old school hardcore combo STRAIGHT OPPOSITION is back with a fury related record-title "The Fury From The Coast", and this time around, this fury, represents the one bursting out of the centre of Italy’s regions -these guys hail from Pescara, Abruzzo- and their strong and proud people struggling and fighting hard for living a normal life in an ill-fated territory that over the recent years, 2016 and 2017, has been badly struck by some devastating and deadly earthquakes. In the aftermath of the seismic activities, a high toll of deaths was claimed, buildings and historical monuments got toppled and damaged, leaving entire towns and areas with the problem of housing people, temporarily, while waiting for the long complicated re-building to start up; a re-building being made longer and complex due to those who, to aquire personal benefit, abuse of their power and public resources.
Straight Opposition have always been straightforward while addressing these issues and aren’t definitely some unheard-of-newcomers among the Italian and European hardcore punk scene being the four-piece formed in 2004 and counting under their belt several record releases (the new album "The Fury From The Coast" marks their fifth full-length), and tours both in Italy and Europe, which got hit more than a few times.
I emailed these questions to Ivan Di Marco (vocals), last December, when they had just headed out with their van, on the “Populism Is Cancer” tour, destination Europe.

London indie-punk trio HAPPY ACCIDENTS are pleased to present the video for their latest track
Text Me When You’re Home’.

A plaintive and honest track about cat-calling and street harassment sung from the female perspective by drummer Phoebe Cross, she says of the new single: "The song's about the inherent threat of walking home alone at night that often comes with being a woman. There's a constant fear of the unknown because of the fact that unwarranted interactions such as being shouted at, or worse, are all too common. I shouldn't have to take my safety for granted, and we have a long way to go to overcome this ingrained societal misogyny."
