BOY SETS FIRE While A Nation Sleeps (CD)

by K.Reid

A DAY TO REMEMBER set an 8th October release date for the long waited new record

There's definitely much anticipation for the release of the brand new full-length record by Ocala, Florida's
metal-poppunk-corers A DAY TO REMEMBER.
At some point in 2012 the news stating "Common Courtesy" being chosen as the title of their new album popped out on the net making fans and press alike assume ADTR were gonna follow this announcement with a release of the album in the very near future.
Finally, and perhaps unexpectedly, last December 2012 the five-piece started spreading around the digital channels a new song titled "Violence (Enough is enough)" to be included in the new effort and seen performed live as opening track of band's setlist over this year.
Alas for the most part of 2013 no fresh news came from A Day To Remember camp and many speculated about one of the reasons behind this delay being the fact that in 2011 the guys filed a lawsuit against their label -in interviews singer Jeremy McKinnon did he stated that his band totally self-funded the recording process as a way not to be influenced by pressures a record deal would probably put on them.
But last August something finally started to move again on the promotional front with the band releasing "Common Courtesy (The Series) Episode 1 -"Black Crow" (the first of a 3-webepisode series which documents the recording process for the album) revealing that "Common Courtesy" will be available on October the 8th 2013 but it's still to be revealed who will be releasing the record -somebody murmurs the band itself.

Waiting for the latest details about the release of "Common Courtesy" you can listen here to "Violence"

STATE FAULTS releasing an LP in November

Just spreading this news item from No Sleep records...

Santa Rosa, CA's State Faults (formerly Brother Bear) might live a bit north from their Cali neighbors Touche Amore and Calculator, but like those bands, they're helping to carry the torch for a modern screamo scene indebted to the sounds of bands like Pg.99 and Envy.
They match revved up punk with raw screams and post-rock atmosphere on "Wildfires," the second track to be released from, Resonate/Desperate, the band's sophomore record under their current name. That track makes its premiere in this post, and you can check it out below. The album's first single is the equally excellent "Meteor," which you can hear over at AltPress or at No Sleep soundcloud.

Resonate/Desperate is due out on November 12.

SEPULTURA has a new album out in October via Nuclear Blast, video trailer #1 off the making of the album documentary

Brazilian metallers are back with a brand new full-length effort (the 13th in their close to 3O years career) on
Oct. 25th in Europe and on Oct. 29th in North America via Nuclear Blast records.
The follow-up to 2011's Kairos is entitled "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" and has seen the guys holing themselves up for forty days in studio in Venice, California with famed producer Ross Robinson, the man handling this duty back in the mid 90's when the four-some was recording the critically acclaimed and seminal "Roots" (released on Roadrunner in 1996 and that happen to be the last record featuring the two Cavalera brothers in the line-up).

Sepultura just posted a video trailer-part #1 (supposedly there will be a part #2) taken off the making of the album documentary they shot to show the fans the creation process behind their latest born and to celebrate the reunion with Ross.
